I’m Back

It has been awhile since my last post, things have been pretty hectic between finals and the start of my internship. Since I’ve been gone, the Celtics have exited the playoffs, the Red Sox have been up an down and Gronk has another setback that may require more surgery.

The biggest story for the Celtics seems to be all the questions that come the end of their season. What is going to happen with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce? Do they stay for one more year and try to make another run, do they retire, or does Danny Ainge prepare for the future and trade the Celtic greats away. While the NBA playoffs unfold do not expect do see any moves being made until the Champion has been crowned. My hope for all of this is to see Pierce and KG retire as Celtics this summer so they can help the Celtics move forward into the future  providing them with money to sign new guys. If they are able to retire this summer then the hard decisions of trading them or keeping them will be able to be avoided.

The Red Sox started off the season strong, having the best record in the league at one point, but as of late they have been hot and cold. Ortiz came back strong like a hitting machine but the Sox need to find a smooth path ahead to help to get some consistent ball going.

Last but not least, Rob Gronkowski has been reported to need another surgery, this time on a disc in his back. This would be the fifth surgery he has gotten since breaking his arm earlier in the season. He has had four surgeries on his arm which leads me to believe that the doctor doing the operations has no idea what he is doing. He was injury prone and the Patriots knew that going in, but this is starting to make me a little nervous. The Patriots need him out there whether hes catching passes, blocking, or being a diversion. These next few months leading up to training camp will be interesting and hopefully Gronk heals quickly.

Well, that was the quick recap of the past few weeks and expect more Red Sox coverage moving forward.
